I remember receiving a film camera when I was around 5 and I guess you could say that I’ve been fascinated with light ever since. My family describes me as the documentarian and the default planner who will always send out an itinerary (complete with FAQs and a timeline) for family gatherings or trips with friends. In college, I spent weekends in the dark room developing my own film and losing sense of time. I loved the tangibility of physically dunking the paper into the fix and watching the image develop. For several years thereafter, I toted my camera around like it was an extension of me, honing in on my craft and challenging myself to capture moments I didn’t want to forget. Although I don’t find myself shooting photography much anymore, it’s lead me to appreciate other facets of the creative space, like the time I have spent as a stills/video producer and project manager.
